KC Trailblazers - Events

The Annual Dinner had 87 of 217 members in attendance. Our meeting location was at the Deer Creek Country Club again this year. Everyone enjoyed a happy hour with cash bar and conversation prior to setting down to the dinner of steak and salmon.

At the Annual Dinner Jerry Woolard gave his summary of our activities and events held throughout the year. He praised the membership for its commitment to Swiss re sponsored events such as Community Day Corporate Challenge and Holiday Giving, upcoming activities include the KC Symphony petting zoo.

Jerry announced that Robin Sterneck retired from Swiss Re on October 2nd. A new site leader was yet to be named but Swiss Re support of the Trailblazers organization remains strong.

LeRoy Unruh reported on the charities supported by the Trailblazers which include: Employees in need both past and present as well as their daughters and sons, cafeteria employees, Salvation Army Angel's tree, Catholic Charities, El Centro and Cross Lines.

The nominating committee report presented by LeRoy approved by the members included the following new board members: Michelle Brents, Secretary; Julia Hedler, david Lewis and Lee Smith.

Jerry recognized and thanked out going board members: Patti DeWitt, Jerry Elsea, Mike Pea and deborah Prather.

Jerry mentioned the upcoming Christmas Party and urged members to complete the activities survey.
